President Bola Tinubu has extended his warmest congratulations to Leo Stan Ekeh, the Founder and Chairman of the Zinox Group, as the legendary entrepreneur celebrates his 70th birthday.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, the President lauded Ekeh as a pioneering innovator whose impact on Nigeria’s Information Technology landscape remains unparalleled.
President Tinubu reflected on the historic 2001 launch of Zinox’s indigenous computer line, calling it a groundbreaking moment for the nation. The President’s connection to this milestone is long-standing; as Governor of Lagos State at the time, Tinubu was a vocal champion for Ekeh’s vision, even hosting him for a private celebratory dinner and attending the launch at Eko Hotel to signal his “seal of approval” for local tech manufacturing.
In his tribute to the Zinox Chairman on the occasion of his Platinum Jubilee, the President highlighted several key contributions. He commended Ekeh as a dynamic pacesetter within the manufacturing and IT ecosystems. Additionally, the President recognized Ekeh’s tireless commitment to promoting “Brand Nigeria” on the global stage. He also praised the Zinox Group for creating vital opportunities for the next generation of Nigerian tech talent.

The 2001 launch that Tinubu fondly recalled was a star-studded affair, attended by then-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, and labour leader, Adams Oshiomhole. It was described then and remains regarded now as the most significant tech launch in Nigerian history.
Today, Ekeh sits at the helm of a massive diversified empire, including Zinox Technologies, TD Africa, Konga and Task Systems & TD Mobile.
