    Smile hits Nigerian market with VoLTE smartphone

    One of Nigeria’s Internet Service Providers, Smile Communications Limited has decided to test the country’s smartphone market with a voice-over 4GLTE smartphone, which it tagged SM-A955Z that offers the best of 4G LTE mobile data and voice services.

    A check on the smartphone, which sells for N35, 000 shows that the phone is running on Android 9 Pie Operating System and was released earlier this month. The network type is 2G/3G/4G VoLTE and has a display of 5.45-inch, 1280 x 720 pixels resolution.

    Other key features in the phone are Helio A22 Processor with 5MP Selfie camera, 8 MP triple camera Rear camera and 8 MP triple camera. In terms of memory, the smartphone, which is a dual SIM phone with Voice over LTE support, so you can make calls and send/receive SMS over Smile Communications’ 4G network came with 2 Gb RAM and 16 Gb ROM with 2950 mAh Battery.

    It can be considered as an entry-level smartphone with the SmileVoice app pre-installed, Google approved and manufactured in partnership with Mediatek. Other pre-loaded applications include  WhatsApp, twitter, skype, Instagram, YouTube, music and FM radio.

    In terms of security, the smartphone is embedded with fingerprint and face recognition for private access. It is Smile’s second attempt at testing the smartphone water.
