Sophos, a global leader in cybersecurity, announced its strong performance in the 2024 MITRE ATT&CK Evaluations: Enterprise. The independent assessment evaluated 19 vendors on their ability to detect and analyze real-world attack tactics and techniques.

    Key Findings:

    • 100% Detection: Sophos XDR successfully detected all adversary behaviors in attack scenarios targeting Windows and Linux, mimicking threats from ransomware groups like LockBit and CL0P.
    • High-Fidelity Detection: 98% of sub-steps across all attack scenarios received the highest possible “Technique” rating, indicating precise identification of “who, what, when, where, why, and how” attacks occurred.
    • Comprehensive Coverage: Sophos XDR achieved “Analytic Coverage” ratings for 99% of sub-steps, demonstrating its ability to provide in-depth insights into attack activities.

MITRE ATT&CK Evaluations are widely recognized as a rigorous standard for measuring cybersecurity effectiveness. This year, the evaluations also included macOS attacks emulating tactics from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, where Sophos XDR achieved a “Technique” rating for 19 out of 21 detections.

Simon Reed, Chief Research and Scientific Officer at Sophos, stated: “Attackers constantly evolve their techniques, making it crucial for security solutions to adapt. We are committed to transparency and third-party validation to help customers make informed decisions. Sophos XDR’s consistent excellence in both industry testing and real-world deployments demonstrates our commitment to stopping threats before they cause significant damage.”

Sophos XDR incorporates a multi-layered approach to security, including proactively activates heightened defenses upon detecting human-operated attacks, providing critical response time, specifically designed to prevent and mitigate ransomware attacks, utilizes advanced machine learning to identify and respond to emerging threats and prevents attacks by blocking vulnerabilities exploited by malicious actors.

Powered by Sophos X-Ops, a cross-functional team of over 500 security experts, Sophos XDR leverages cutting-edge threat intelligence to provide robust and proactive protection.
