Zoho has unveiled a major upgrade to its Zoho Campaigns marketing platform, introducing native WhatsApp marketing, enhanced email editing tools, AI-powered content creation and support for AI agent workflows to help businesses streamline digital marketing activities.
The upgrade brings email, SMS and WhatsApp marketing into a unified campaign management environment, enabling businesses to coordinate customer communications, automate repetitive tasks and gain better insights into campaign performance.
For Nigerian businesses increasingly relying on digital channels to reach customers, the enhanced platform offers tools to manage multiple customer touchpoints, personalise communications and improve marketing efficiency from a single interface.
Kehinde Ogundare, Country Head, Zoho Nigeria, said the enhancements were designed to help marketing teams simplify campaign management and make better use of emerging technologies.
“Marketing teams need solutions that make it easier to connect with customers, manage campaigns and understand what is working across different channels,” Ogundare said.
He added that the integration of AI capabilities would help organisations support their marketing teams, streamline processes and make more informed decisions.
A major feature of the upgrade is native WhatsApp marketing, which allows businesses to create bulk campaigns using approved message templates, send trigger-based messages and incorporate WhatsApp communications into automated workflows.
The platform also simplifies email campaign creation through fewer setup steps, improved recipient tracking and enhanced A/B testing, enabling marketers to compare subject lines, sender details and content to determine what generates better audience engagement.
SMS campaign management has also been improved through simplified gateway configuration, while frequency capping across email, SMS and WhatsApp helps businesses prevent excessive or duplicate messages to customers.
AI agents take on marketing tasks
Beyond conventional campaign automation, Zoho Campaigns now supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that enables compatible AI agents to connect with supported application capabilities.
Through configured integrations and permissions, marketers can use natural-language instructions to coordinate activities such as campaign preparation, audience segmentation, content selection, test delivery, scheduling and performance analysis.
For instance, businesses can instruct compatible AI agents to prepare promotional campaigns for existing customer segments, analyse previous campaign results and develop targeted re-engagement campaigns for customers who have not interacted with recent communications.
The platform also introduces Zia Content Analyzer, an AI-powered writing assistant that checks spelling, grammar and writing style while suggesting improvements to tone, clarity and messaging. It can also generate subject lines, preheaders and campaign content for email, SMS and WhatsApp.
Another feature, Campaign Context, allows marketers to apply common briefs covering brand voice, promotional information and audience details across campaigns, helping maintain consistency in customer communications.
Improved personalisation and analytics
The redesigned template editor introduces reusable content blocks, centralised brand styles, mobile editing capabilities and dynamic content that allows businesses to personalise different sections of emails for specific audience segments.
Advanced audience segmentation also enables marketers to build targeted customer groups using engagement data, layered criteria and complex conditions, including improved processing for large contact databases.
On reporting, the upgraded platform provides dedicated dashboards for email, SMS and WhatsApp, alongside a unified contact dashboard. E-commerce integrations allow businesses to monitor campaign-driven revenue, orders, return on investment and shopping cart performance.
Integration with Zoho Analytics further enables businesses to consolidate contact information and campaign activities across communication channels, while unified contact scoring provides a broader view of customer engagement.
The upgrade also strengthens integration with Zoho CRM through live contact synchronisation, direct access to CRM custom views and the ability to create campaigns using CRM data.
Pricing remains unchanged
Zoho said the upgraded Campaigns platform is available globally, with no changes to existing pricing. Paid subscriptions start at ₦2,300 per month.
WhatsApp and SMS marketing features are included at no additional platform charge, although businesses must purchase credits to send messages.
The platform also retains its free plan, which supports up to 500 contacts and 2,000 emails monthly.
The latest enhancements reflect the growing role of AI and multichannel communication in business marketing, as organisations seek more efficient ways to reach customers, personalise engagement and measure the commercial impact of digital campaigns.
