A Former President of Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) Lagos Chapter Mr Rogba Adeoye has insisted that the National Executive Council election that produced Dr. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu and other executive members in Bauchi recently is null and void.

Speaking to ITPulse via a telephone conversation, Mr. Rogba Adeoye said a competent court injunction was obtained stopping the society from holding the election and wondered why a professional body like the Nigeria Computer Society headed by a professor would go ahead to disobey such a court order.

“As far as anybody is concerned, the National Executive Council election held recently is null and void and a total disobedient of a court order. The matter has been slated for hearing November 22, 2023, and no other court has set aside the Ex Parte order dated and filed on July 17, 2023, at the Federal High Court in Lagos,” he said.

He noted that you cannot put something on top of nothing. Thus, the supposed election held in Bauchi, North-East Nigeria is a waste of time.

ITPulse had reported recently that Mr. Rogba Adeoye, a member of NCS had in an Ex Parte order dated and filed on July 17, 2023, at the Federal High Court in Lagos, sought an interlocutory injunction restraining the Nigeria Computer Society, Prof. Adesina Sodiya, Mr. Segun Adekunle and Olufemi Williams or anyone claiming authority through them from proceeding to hold the national Executive Council Election slated for August 9, 2023, pending the determination of the originating summons.

Suit No: FHC/L/CS/1268/2023 is adjourned to November 22, 2023, for report or service.

But the then President, Prof. Adesina Sodiya in an interview on the sideline of a press conference the society held in Lagos, vowed to proceed with the scheduled election into national offices. The election has been held and produced executive members to pilot the affairs of the society for a 2-year term.

While Dr. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu, deputy to the immediate past president, Prof. Adesina Sodiya was elected President, Dr. Charles Onyeukwu, immediate past Chairman, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of NCS was elected Deputy President.
