    6 finalists emerge from Glo-sponsored Dance with Peter audition

    Kaffy-and-Peter-OkoyeSix finalists, including an Architect, Mariam Ahmed emerged as winners from the first audition of the Glo-sponsored dance reality show, Dance with Peter, held in Abuja on Friday. The other winners are 24-year-old professional dancer, Yemi Afolabi Osokoya; a 21-year-old National Open University undergraduate, Miracle Chinonso Nelson, a male dancer, Ibrahim Afeez Abiodun and a female dancer Amenze Blessing Omoregie. The six finalists will proceed to Lagos, where they will battle contestants from other parts of Nigeria and Ghana for the grand prize of a brand new Toyota RAV 4, N3 million and the rare opportunity of featuring in P-Square’s next music video. Also on the list is ElevatorzNg, an all male dance group comprising of Atuonwu Samson, Kelvin Anyaruoh, Jekeygreen Emmanuel, Michael Atuonwu and Godrich Olokor Ogenebroze, from theatre and Cultural Studies department of Nasarawa State University. The First runner-up will be presented with a brand new Honda Civic car with N2million while the second runner-up will go home with a brand new Honda Civic car with N1million. They will also be given the opportunity to feature in a top Glo Ambassador’s music videos. The Musa Yar’Adua Centre venue of the Abuja auditions of the dance competition was besieged by over 200 individual and group dancers, male and female of various ages who came to participate in the event. A nine-year old boy, Divine Uche, was the cynosure of all eyes at the Abuja audition. David who very narrowly emerged with a qualifying ticket at the audition, performed solo, executing mind-boggling stunts and winning himself a standby slot, which he inevitably conceded to more experienced and older dancers much later in the night. The panel of judges include one of Nigeria’s most famous performing twins and a Globacom ambassador, PSquare,Peter Okoye, Dance Queen, Kaffy, and Nonso aka Don Flex who is also P-Squares’ choreographer. The next audition comes up in Accra Ghana at National Theatre, South Liberia Road, Accra, on September 1 and will be followed by Benin, Edo State, next week Friday September 4th, at the Oba Akenzua Cultural Center, Airport Road, Benin City While Lagos audition will hold at Bamako Studios, 1 Bamako Street, Ojodu, Lagos. On Tuesday, “Dance with Peter’s final audition comes up at the Atrium Event Centre, Stadium Road in Port Harcourt on September 10. Those who want to participate in the show can register by sending ‘DANCE’ to the short code 55517 in Nigeria and 3030 in Ghana through their Glo lines. Registration costs N100 for Nigeria and 0.5GHc for Ghana. “Once they send the SMS to the short code, they will then be requested to send their details such as name and location at no extra charge. All successful registrations will get a confirmatory SMS with instructions on what to do next.
