Nigeria’s digital payment leader, 9 Payment Service Bank (9PSB), fueled the fire of tech innovation by sponsoring the recent Kano TechPrenuer Conference. This flagship event, themed “Empowering Tomorrow: Innovating in the Digital Space,” gathered tech enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and visionaries to explore cutting-edge trends, share knowledge, and build connections within the Kano tech scene.

Emphasizing the transformative power of technology at the event, Akeem Salam, Group Head of Business Development and Strategy at 9PSB, pointed out how tech advancements have revolutionized various industries, particularly finance and banking. The digitalization of banking services has paved the way for FinTech companies and payment service banks like 9PSB to operate seamlessly, expanding financial inclusion across Nigeria.

He explained that 9PSB is actively bridging the financial inclusion gap by offering a suite of user-friendly, competitively-priced products and services. These include virtual accounts, the Bank9ja mobile app, USSD services, PoS solutions for merchants, a reliable agency banking network, and convenient bill payment options – all accessible through mobile devices.

“We partner with other players to fulfill our mandate of reaching every Nigerian. Collaboration unlocks opportunities and smooths the journey for everyone,” he said.

He added that 9PSB goes beyond providing seamless payment solutions, as the Central Bank of Nigeria has tasked them with promoting financial literacy, ensuring both young and adult Nigerians have access to basic financial education. 9PSB delivers on this commitment through various programs and services.

Looking ahead, 9PSB remains dedicated to supporting the development, growth, and innovation of tech startups and initiatives. Akeem concluded by encouraging attendees to stay focused and committed to their careers and businesses, highlighting the positive impact they can have on society.

The Kano TechPrenuer Conference is an annual gathering for tech enthusiasts. This year’s event brought together IT consultants, web developers, social media marketers, and affiliate marketers to connect, learn new skills, collaborate, and shape the future of Kano’s tech landscape. It served as a vital platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and exploring the latest trends and strategies within the Kano tech ecosystem.
