Interswitch, Africa’s leading integrated payments and digital commerce giant, has officially unveiled the nine exceptional students who will battle for the crown at the InterswitchSPAK 7.0 Grand Finale.

After a grueling semi-final stage, these finalists have risen to the top of a competition that originally began with over 18,000 applicants from across Nigeria. This flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative continues to solidify its reputation as the country’s most prestigious STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) contest.

The journey to the finale was a rigorous test of academic excellence:

    • Initial Stage: 18,000+ registered senior secondary students.
    • Qualifying Stage: 81 students selected via a nationwide computer-based test.
    • Semi-Finals: 27 students competed for the final slots.
    • Finalists: 9 elite students chosen based on discipline, talent, and scientific brilliance.

The finalists are competing for a share of over ₦35 million in scholarships and prizes:

    • Winner: ₦15 million scholarship (over 5 years), a laptop, and monthly stipends.
    • 1st Runner-up: ₦10 million scholarship (over 3 years) and a laptop.
    • 2nd Runner-up: ₦5 million scholarship (1 year) and a laptop.
    • Consolation: Cash prizes for 4th–9th place, plus recognition for the top 18 semi-finalists and 27 outstanding teachers.

“InterswitchSPAK was created to identify, inspire, and reward excellence in STEM while equipping young Africans to solve real-world problems. These nine finalists represent the future of innovation in Africa,” Cherry Eromosele, EVP, Group Marketing and Communications, Interswitch.
