In a bid to enhance the telecoms industry’s capacity to combat robocalling and other unwanted or fraudulent calls, the GSMA is inviting the global telecom industry stakeholders to partner it on a new international fraud deterrent system. The system, which was yesterday launched at the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2021 was developed by the GSMA and Mobileum and is targeted at interconnect, robocalling and other unwanted calls. The Nigerian government has given some explanation why it approved the extension of the NIN-SIM Verification Deadline to July 26.
