    A design system is more than a Figma file or a repository of reusable buttons. It’s a structured and evolving framework of components, design principles, accessibility standards, and documentation that aligns teams and accelerates product development.

    By creating a single source of truth, design systems enable designers and developers to share a common visual language, eliminate duplication, and ensure consistency across multiple platforms and products.

    But creating a design system isn’t just about standardization—it’s also about governance. As design systems grow, they require oversight. That’s where DesignOps comes in—teams responsible for curating, updating, and evangelizing the system’s use.

    This includes defining how components should be built, tested, and released, as well as ensuring they remain accessible and performant.
