The Director General of the  National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mr. Kashifu Abdullahi Inuwa has disclosed that Nigeria was able to attract $178 million foreign direct investment from 168 deals last year.

The DG, who stated this in Dubai at the 39th Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX), in which Nigeria is a partner, added the investment is increasing even in 2019.

“The Nigerian tech ecosystem has produced three companies valued for more than $100m, including the only African “unicorn” (Jumia), valued at over $1bn,” he was quoted by the Daily Trust Newspaper.

He argued that Nigeria has the highest investment in Africa, urging potential investors to come invest with a promise of a higher return on investment. “We invite our potential investors, to take advantage of this massive talent pool as you invest in Nigeria,” he stated
