MainOne has announced the launch of its 100-rack Data Center facility located in Appolonia City, 20 kilometers from Accra-Ghana, as part of efforts to expand its digital footprints across the Africa continent.

According to Mainone, the data center will be managed by its subsidiary, MDXi and will offer customers the opportunity to host infrastructure in a facility guaranteed to provide high levels of availability and rich connectivity with a global network of customers, partners and suppliers. Thus, ensuring reliable service delivery to businesses within and outside Ghana.

“We are confident that this world-class data center will positively impact business growth and human capital development in Ghana as it expands the frontiers of the digital revolution and transformation in the country,” said Mr. Africanus Mensah, Chairman, MainOne Ghana at the launch.

The new data center offers open access connectivity options to all the leading telecom networks in Ghana and direct access to MainOne and other submarine cable systems. It offers access to various Internet Exchanges including the GIX (Ghana), IXPN (Nigeria), LINX (London), DECIX (Frankfurt/Lisbon), and Cote d’Ivoire Internet Exchange (CIVIX), as well as the West Africa Internet Exchange (WAF-IX).

The data center which features private data center suites, enterprise-grade 24×7 multi-level security and video surveillance, precision cooling, safety and fire suppression systems with multiple redundancies built into the power, cooling and security infrastructure, is an addition to MDXi’s list of data centers which have provided exceptional services for almost a decade in West Africa.
