The Nest Innovation Technology Park has announced a significant partnership with UnternehmerTUM, Europe’s leading startup hub, to bolster entrepreneurial development in Nigeria through the “Africa Meets Bavaria” program. This collaboration aims to provide crucial support and resources to Nigerian founders, addressing the growing need for formal entrepreneurial training and international co-creation.

The two-year initiative, backed by the Bavarian State Chancellery, focuses on connecting Bavaria with Africa to foster place-based innovation and entrepreneurial collaboration. It seeks to empower young African tech talents to innovate locally while simultaneously enabling Bavarian companies to tap into emerging African markets.

The project will address critical global challenges such as sustainability, mobility transformation, and climate change by encouraging participants to develop localized solutions. This approach aims to contribute to the sustainable development and economic growth of participating African nations.

The Nest Innovation Technology Park is joined by other leading African innovation hubs, including MEST Africa (Ghana), Impact Hub Kigali (Rwanda), and iHub Nairobi (Kenya), in this collaborative effort with UnternehmerTUM. Together, they will work to cultivate a new generation of African entrepreneurs, nurture talent, and provide a platform for launching groundbreaking businesses.

“Nigeria is full of brilliant entrepreneurs. What’s often missing is access—the right structures, the right networks, and the right resources,” stated Oluwajoba Oloba, Co-founder of The Nest. “This partnership is about breaking those barriers and ensuring our entrepreneurs are positioned to succeed globally.”

The partnership will facilitate co-creation and cross-pollination between Nigerian university labs and UnternehmerTUM, aligning with the objectives of the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Innovation and the Nigeria Startup Act. This collaboration is expected to create valuable opportunities for Nigerian founders to access international expertise and resources, fostering a more robust and globally competitive startup ecosystem
