Medallion Communications Limited owned Data Centre has been awarded the most connected Data Centre of the decade in Nigeria at the Nigeria @60 ICT Hall of Fame Awards, which was recently organized TechTV in collaboration with Techeconomy.ng as the highpoint of the 2020 Titans of Tech Virtual Conference and Expo.

Making a presentation of the award to the Chief Executive Officer of Medallion, Engr. Ikechukwu Nnamani, the President of TechTV, Don Pedro Aganbi said the Medallion with over 83 service providers connected to it deserved the award.

“A report by our investigative panel shows that in the last ten years, the Medallion Data Centre is the most connected with several international and local service providers plug to it. So as part of our efforts at celebrating those that are doing well, we decided to honour Medallion with the award,” he said.

He added Medallion through the Data Centre has shown huge professionalism and transparency in promoting the growth of Information and Communications Technology in Nigeria and has in the process helped operators to localize their content, leading to the improvement of the quality of service to subscribers and ultimately, lowering the prices of telecom services to the end users.

Meanwhile, an excited Nnamani has described the award to Medallion as a reward for hard work, promising that Medallion intends to domesticate Data Centre services in the country.

“For us, this is a reward for consistency in building telecom infrastructure that is currently accommodating the hosting of contents from both local and international service providers in Nigeria,” Engr. Nnamani, who was also Inducted into the “Nigeria @60 ICT Hall of Fame Award said.

Truly, the Medallion Data Centre is the most connected in Nigeria with over 83 local and international service providers connected. Medallion is also presently strengthening its market footings by expanding Data Centre services across Nigeria and selected West African nations.

In addition to its facilities in Lagos and Abuja, Medallion is creating new facilities in Asaba, Enugu, Port-Harcourt, Kano and Ibadan in its next expansion phase. This is in a bid to address some of the data hosting challenges in the industry.
