In a bid to forge strategic partnerships aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and accelerating its digital transformation journey, Nigeria’s Federal Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, recently led a high-level delegation to Denmark.

The visit, hosted by the Embassy of Denmark in Nigeria with support from the BESTSELLER FOUNDATION, provided a platform for Nigeria to learn from Denmark’s globally recognized digital solutions and data-driven governance models.

The Nigerian delegation engaged with key Danish innovators and companies, including Cbrain, e-Boks, Sternula, and NetCompany, exploring collaboration opportunities across various sectors. The discussions focused on critical areas such as public sector digitization, satellite communication, digital postal services, and telecom infrastructure. These conversations highlighted the immense potential for partnerships in fostering interoperability, building a trust economy, and accelerating the adoption of emerging technologies in Nigeria.

Dr. Tijani emphasized the importance of these engagements, noting that they laid the groundwork for Nigeria’s digital future. He extended special appreciation to the Danish representatives, including Jette Bjerrum Bjerrum, Consulate General, and Sara Ibru, Commercial Deputy Head at the Embassy of Denmark to Nigeria, as well as Anders Boelskifte Mogensen and Tine Fisker Henriksen of the Bestseller Foundation, for their role in facilitating productive discussions.

The visit included conversations on potential talent exchange programs with Copenhagen Capacity and partnerships on data parks and Project BRIDGE, which are crucial for developing robust digital infrastructure. These discussions are a first step toward translating ideas into impactful programs that will deliver tangible value to Nigerians and solidify the country’s position as a leader in the global technology landscape.

In his remarks, Dr. Tijani underscored that the visit was a powerful reminder of the possibilities that emerge from strengthening international friendships and committing to shared prosperity through innovation.

He expressed optimism about translating these collaborative efforts into concrete projects, ultimately enhancing Nigeria’s digital economy and strengthening its voice in the global technology conversation. “The partnership with Denmark is expected to serve as a model for how Nigeria can leverage international collaboration to achieve its ambitious digital goals,” he said.
