Premier technology-enabled bus sharing provider, Plentywaka has rejigged its operation to provide safe, convenient and comfortable bus rides to Lagosians on a daily basis.

Speaking to journalists who were on a test drive with the Plentywaka buses, the Managing Director and Co-Founder, Johnny Enagwolor disclosed that the restructuring of the operation includes redesigning and upgrading the mobile app and expanding of the service to other routes to accommodate more Lagosians.

He said the essence is to improve user experience. “What we have done is to massively improve the public transportation system in Nigeria by making daily commute easier for bus riders through a bus hailing app,” he said.

Enagwolor also stated that Plentywaka is expected to get over 100 buses in the first quarter of 2020 through a vehicle partnership arrangement it has rolled out, which will allow interested bus owners to onboard their buses into the scheme with a monthly sharing formula of 70-30 percent.

These buses will help to cover routes it has not covered after three months of the brand launch. The platform, which many Nigerians described as a novel innovation, kicked off operations on its pilot route being Ajah-CMS-Ajah. It has also expanded the route to Eko Hotel Roundabout.

Unlike other platforms, Plentywaka fare prices are fixed. For instance, a ride from Ajah to CMS cost N450in a well-organized bus with all the facilities. Also, the new improved Plentywaka app comes with features that will allow riders to get buses at their own convenience without the usual hassle associated with public transportation in Lagos.

A check on the app shows that there is a wallet tagged Wakapurse, which riders can fund for as low as N1000. Other features in the app are the ability to do a scheduled booking, driver updates, te easy online payment via e-wallet, time maps, optimized routing system, a better user navigation system and a referral system to introduce new users and earn points in their WakaPurse.

Riders can also perform group bookings on the app to accommodate other riders who could not book on their own.
