    Techcode Nigeria unveils SECYCONE 2019 date and agenda

    .…Secycone 2019 to hold alongside recognition awards

    Techcode Nigeria,an indigenous Cyber security company is organizingthe second Edition of its flagship programme – South-East Cyber Security Conference (SECYCONE 2019) in Collaboration with South-East Chambers of Commerce.

    The Conference and Exhibition is aimed at promoting Cyber security due diligence, audiences’ knowledge, awareness and understanding of the issues around Cyber-crime in the South East Nigeria.

    The three-days event which will hold from Wednesday 16th– Friday 18th October, 2019  at Kobb Civic Center GRA Enugu, Enugu State, will attract Cyber Security professionals from various industries within and outside the South-Eastern Region, including, Financial Services sector, Insurance firms, Telecommunications, the Oil and Gas, conglomerates, Tech Start-ups, Financial Technology (FinTech) companies, States & Local  Governments in the South-Eastern Region, Parastatals in the South East, the Police, Military/Para-Military, etc.

    According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Techcode Nigeria, Mr. Nwogha Joshua, the programme with the theme, “’Strengthen the Security Ecosystem and Cybersecurity Cluster” is intended to digitally influence the cyberspace by offering the platform for discussion for participants, as well as various products and services that will help bridge the digital and information bridge in Nigeria and indeed in West Africa.

    Mr. Nwogha posited that SECYCONE 2019, the 2nd Edition South-east Cyber-security Conference, is holding in Enugu State because of the State’s strategic and economic importance in the South-East.

    He mentioned also that SECYCONE 2019 has the support of Governors of the South-Eastern States. 

    SECYCONE 2019 is expected to have an audience of two thousand mainly drawn from the Southeast tech stakeholder in attendance.

    “SME Clinic and Secycone are initiatives of Techcode Nigeria at promoting the ease of doing business and Cyber security due diligence, audiences’ knowledge, awareness and understanding of the issues around Cyber-crime in the global digital society.  

    The programme which aims to serve the governments and the private sector in the South Eastern part of the country especially, is uniquely merged with the Following.

    1.      Exhibition

    2.      Hackathon Competition to all tertiary Institution

    3.      SME Clinic

    4.      South-East Recognition Award. (SERA)

    “Secycone 2019 is to provide a platform to showcase state of the art safety products & solutions, the latest technology, provide networking & marketing opportunities for manufacturers and attract prospective investors to the South Eastern region. 

    “We are confident that the 3-day event which is targeted at high  level executives from across all the strata of human endeavour – banking, oil and gas, Tech Start-ups, Financial Technology companies, all tiers of government, telecommunications, logistics, retail, hospitality, the military, paramilitary, etc, which use the internet of things for doing their businesses will live up to its billing as the most established and only dedicated Security and Public Safety event to serve the government and private sector in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria”. 

    Speaking further on why the imperatives of the conference, Mr. Nwogha, recalls that cyber threats and attacks are constantly growing and becoming more sophisticated, dangerous and damaging.  

    “It is a top priority for businesses to protect their networks, computers, and information from unauthorized access and breaches.  

    “As enterprises and governments now provide most services online to their clients, the size of cyber-attack has grown exponentially.  

    “Cybercrimes in the country are on the rise as is evident from the number of cases that are reported in the media. The number of compromised records in the last few years is in excess of 900 million globally. Cybercrimes can have far reaching impacts including disruption of critical infrastructure, financial frauds and data breaches, amongst other.  

    “The huge pay off that cybercrimes offer at a minimal cost, coupled with no constraints of geographical boundaries, has added to the rapidly increasing instances of such crimes. 

    “Many of these cyber criminals’ current exploits are going unnoticed. Secycone 2019 Conference will focus on how businesses can protect themselves from falling victims and also learn how to mitigate these threats in a digital age through workshops, technical sessions, plenary sessions and breakout session and the Conference is uniquely merged with exhibition to provide a platform to display state of the art safety products & solutions, showcase the latest technology, provide networking & marketing opportunities for manufacturers and also attract prospective investors to the South Eastern region.

    “On the last day of the conference been 18th October 2019, there will also be a recognition award which we tagged SOUTHEAST RECOGNITION AWARD (SERA).

    “This award will be to acknowledge the effort and tremendous impact of notable dignitaries from the southeast to the growth and development in their various spheres of influence and industry. However, we cannot achieve the stated aim of this event without the help of people and a company like yours.

    Meanwhile, the Keynote address shall be delivered by the former CEO of Computer Warehouse Group, Dr. James Agada; amongst other speakers including Yaniv Ovitz, Mr. Destiny Amana.
