Zinox Chairman Ekeh denies fresh lawsuit, accuses Falana of media trial

Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of Zinox Group, has dismissed a recent lawsuit filed against him, his companies, staff, and wife as a media trial. Ekeh claims the lawsuit is being used to harass him and his associates.

Ekeh refutes the allegations made by Femi Falana (SAN), the lawyer representing Benjamin Joseph of Citadel Oracle Concepts Ltd, accusing him of misleading the Attorney General to issue a fiat for the case and engaging in media trial tactics.

According to Ekeh, several reasons why he believes the lawsuit lacks merit include the fact that Benjamin Joseph was already convicted of false petitioning in a related case and received a judgment of N20 million in damages.

    Others include:

    • Misrepresentation of Facts: Ekeh claims Falana failed to disclose the previous judgment and an ongoing criminal case against Joseph.
    • Media Trial: Ekeh argues that Falana prioritizes media attention over legal proceedings by using Sahara Reporters to publicize the case.

Meanwhile, reacting to Falana’s motives, Ekeh doubts Falana’s motivations and questions the Attorney General’s decision to grant a fiat after the withdrawal of a previous one due to misrepresentation.

Though, he emphasizes his respect for Falana but criticizes his tactics. He believes Falana should focus on the legal process rather than media stunts.

On the other hand, Ekeh denies any wrongdoing and expresses confidence in the legal system. He welcomes the opportunity to defend himself in court if necessary.
