Excitement is sky-high among bargain-hungry shoppers as Konga Yakata, the Black Friday sales of Nigeria’s e-commerce giant is known, kicked off in the early hours of today, Wednesday, November 11, 2020.

Already, thousands of eager shoppers expectedly kept vigil on the Konga website – www.konga.com to be the first to grab the special commencement deals.

The 2020 edition of Konga Yakata runs from November 11 till December 12, 2020.

Further spicing up the opening day of Konga Yakata 2020 is its coincidence with the globally celebrated Singles Day – a day of mega shopping frenzy which originated in China. Traffic to the Konga website is expected to continue to spike throughout the day as more shoppers join the race to take advantage of early bird offers in the mega Black Friday sales.

Equally important, Konga retail stores across Nigeria are expected to witness significantly increased footfalls, with many walk-in customers taking the traditional route to avoid the online rush for self-fulfillment of their orders or to shop and pick up their preferred items instantly.

The foregoing was alluded to by Co-CEO, Konga Group, Nick Imudia in an interview with Channels TV.

‘‘What make Konga unique is our omni-channel strategy, which means we are both present online and offline. Therefore, at 12:05am, shoppers have already started to access available deals online. However, during the day, many shoppers who prefer to see the products physically before paying will rush to Konga stores in any of our 31 retail stores across the federation, including those located in Lagos, Uyo, Warri, Kano, Ibadan, Kano Abuja, Port-Harcourt, Owerri, Enugu, Asaba, to shop.

‘‘We have something for everyone. Through Konga Bulk, resellers can also buy in bulk and resell to their customers at good prices. We also have a number of payment options including KongaPay, our CBN-licensed mobile money platform, through which you can pre-pay. Shoppers can also pay on delivery or walk into the stores to pay and pick up.

‘‘Konga Yakata is a way for us to domesticate Black Friday in Nigeria. By Yakata, we mean abundance of offers, unlimited deals and access to millions of products for our customers. Also, we have committed to beat any price in the market for genuine products. We are calling on our customers that, before they buy anything, they should check prices on Konga.

“I want to appeal to both online and offline shoppers across Nigeria to take advantage of the heavily discounted prices being offered by Konga on quality products during this year’s Konga Yakata sales extravaganza,’’ he said.

Konga Yakata, also famously tagged 11-11/12-12, will run from today, Wednesday, November 11 till Saturday, December 12, 2020 online and offline across all of Konga’s retail channels.
