PalmPay, a leading force in Africa’s digital banking sector, has officially opened its newest office at 33 Old Yaba Road, Lagos. The expansion marks a significant milestone in the company’s mission to scale financial inclusion and enhance its operational infrastructure within Nigeria’s premier technology hub.

The move to Yaba—often referred to as Nigeria’s “Silicon Lagoon”—places PalmPay at the heart of the country’s innovation corridor. The new workspace is designed to foster cross-functional collaboration among its rapidly growing team, ensuring the platform can continue to support its massive transaction volume and diverse user base.

PalmPay has achieved massive scale since its launch in 2019, growing to over 35 million app users. The platform now demonstrates significant daily volume by processing up to 15 million transactions every day. While the company is anchored in Nigeria, it has expanded its global reach to include operations in Ghana, Tanzania, and Bangladesh. Furthermore, PalmPay provides comprehensive services by integrating savings, micro-insurance, and an extensive mobile money agent network into its app beyond simple transfers.

During the launch event, which was attended by leadership, staff, and key customers, Chika Nwosu, Managing Director of PalmPay, emphasized that the new facility is more than just real estate; it is a testament to the company’s long-term vision.

“This new office represents an important step in our growth journey and our commitment to building secure, reliable, and inclusive financial solutions for our users,” Nwosu stated. “It reinforces our dedication to excellence and our ability to deliver reliable services at scale.”

By anchoring itself in Yaba, PalmPay is positioned to attract top-tier tech talent and collaborate more closely with other stakeholders in the financial ecosystem. The new office will serve as a hub for developing the next generation of digital tools aimed at empowering underserved markets and driving economic empowerment.

The expansion comes at a time when digital payments are becoming the primary mode of commerce in Nigeria. With its Mobile Money Operator (MMO) license, PalmPay continues to bridge the gap between traditional banking and the unbanked, providing tools that allow both individuals and small businesses to manage and grow their finances seamlessly.
